Turkey Day Baby!

This was Dutch's first Thanksgiving and boy was it a hum-dinger.  We celebrated in Mertzon, TX with about 40 of Dan's relatives.  I must say it was a blast, oh and we had way too much food :)  We all brought at least one dish and the variety was great.  I volunteered to make:
  • Cheesecake (because I'm super picky and prefer my recipe over all others),
  • Mashed Potatoes (most of which were eaten) and
  • Cranberry Sauce (which we had way too much of and turned out a bit watery)
It was great getting to spend time with, and in some cases meet for the first time, all the family.  Dutch had a good face on most of the time, but it certainly was a lot for him.  He was having SO much fun that it would quickly wear him out and he would have to nap.

There were other kids and babies there and Dutch really seemed to enjoy playing with them.  Sidney and Shelby really got him laughing with a tickle fest.  He stared at 3 week old Avarie with a bit of wonder.  While 8 month old Tristan had him wishing he could crawl around too.

That evening we all gathered around the fire.  It was pretty darn cold outside so we bundled Dutch up in our coats and he watched his first fire with amazement.

All in all it was a great Thanksgiving and we are so happy that we got to share it with everyone!
