Do A Little Dance

Baker likes to dance when he is in his high chair.  Dutch has started enjoying it as well. P.S. - This was taken about 10 minutes ago :)

The Flood of 2013

Here is a video of the high point of the flood.  I have some pictures to upload but will do that later.

Daddy's Off To Work

Baker's Walking

Baker started taking his first wobbly steps the first week of May.  He was so excited that he would just lurch at us after one step. Just one month later he was walking confidently!  Now he walks all the time.

Chatty Little Baker

At the beginning of February Baker decided he had a lot to say.  He started babbling and hasn't stopped since!  When he hears Dutch in another room he will say "bub bub bub bub bub" (Bubba) and when he sees Dan he will say "hi yadadada." This video is from when he first started jabbering.

Big Baker Update!!

Baker surprised us yesterday by reaching a new landmark...he rolled over!!  He has mastered going from his back to his tummy, which is the harder of the two roll over directions.  Typically babies roll from their tummy to their back around 3 months and then from their back to their tummy at about 5 months.  But our little Baker is a strong boy and he wanted a challenge! He has also been smiling and talking to us a lot lately.  He loves to look you in the eyes and give you a big smile and coo.  It melts our hearts and brings a big smile to our faces too.

The Big 2!

Image
Big Bro is 2 years old...how did that happen?! At 2 his stats are: -Weight: 30 lbs (80th percentile) -Height: 35.5 in (75-80th percentile) -Pants: 18-24 month -Shirts: 3T -Shoes: 6 He is still one long and lean kiddo. He is running well and has somewhat figured out how to jump. He has been talking up a storm for quite some time now and will repeat EVERYTHING you say. In groups he has become more shy, but I'm sure he will outgrow that. At home, Big Bro loves to help with things. He remembers when you have let him help with something before and gets a little upset if you don't let him help again. For instance, Big Bro is in charge of closing doors. The day after he turned 2, Big Bro moved to his big boy bed.  We started with naptime on Sunday afternoon and he did great.  He was a little confused at first, he just sat there on the edge of the bed looking around.  Then after walking around for a minute he climbed back and and went right to sleep.  He has bee...

ABC's

Dutch can say his ABC's!  Go Dutch Go!!

Big Boy Bed

We recently purchased a bunk bed set.  We are going to leave them un-bunked for now and use the would be top bunk as a toddler bed (it has rails).  We got the 'toddler bed' mostly set up in Dutch's room and Dutch was sooo excited.  He is still in his crib for now, but we think he might be ready to make the move in a few months so we wanted to have the bed ready.

Whole Lotta Love

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Dutch was pretending to be Mommy today.  He didn't know that I was taping him.  Be sure you turn up the volume so you can hear him talk clearly.

Papa & Grandma

Dutch has been learning the names and faces of his beloved family members.  He has had Papa and Nana down for a little while, but he was still working on Grandma.  I think he is getting pretty good with that one though.

Oh To Be Young...

If only we were all still so easily entertained by just thrashing our heads about.

Demands

Dutch is not shy when he wants something.  Dan used to keep his guitar in the closet, but he had to move it because Dutch would just beg for him to play it all the time. (Dutch's word for 'guitar' is 'tar')

Funny Face

Dutch learned how to make a 'funny face' and our laughing at him really egged it on.

No Bull

Image
Actually that is not true, it was very bull.  As in we had a bull roaming around our yard for most of the afternoon.  It ate our little patches of grass and lazed in the shade of our trees.  It stayed down by the river and didn't bother us, but Dutch and I did have fun watching it through the back door. After a few hours the neighbor came and shooed it back home.  The video is kind of boring, but you hear Dutch make a "bbbmmm" sound a few seconds in.  That is how he moos.  So he was mooing to the bull, or cow in his mind.

What the Future Holds Part II

I could be completely wrong about Dutch being a plumber.  I know it seems shocking to imagine me being wrong, but it COULD happen...I suppose...on some other planet. Anyway, I guess it is possible that he will be a rock star.

Playtime in the Land of Dutch

Here is a video of what a typical day looks like for Dutch and myself.  He wanders around babbling and playing.

Keyboarding

Dutch has been very into musical instruments lately.  All day long he says "tar" which means guitar.  He can't wait for Dan to get home and play for him.  So yesterday I got out the keyboard and let him have at it.

Momma, I need help!
