Follow Up

Image
Today is my follow up visit for my surgery last week. I'm currently waiting in the exam room because the Dr got called to a surgery. (He'll be here in about 30 mins.) I'm feeling pretty darn good. No soreness (unless one of the boys jabs me in an incision) and my fatigue becomes less with each day. I feel pretty normal today! This is the view from my window. That is the hospital the surgery was performed at, as well as where Baker was born. Well kind if on Baker, he was in a wing to the right that can't be seen in this pic, but whatevs.

LOL

Finally caught some of Baker's good laughs on video.  I kid you not, Dutch is the ONLY person that can make Baker laugh like this.  Dan and I can get some good laughs, but nothing like Dutch can.

I Can Do It / Airplane Shirt

Image
Dutch has started insisting on getting his milk cup in and out of the fridge own his own. It's actually quite useful as it saves me a step :) He also insisted on wearing his airplane shirt today. Since we are not leaving the house I thought I would showcase it.

Dutch: 2.5 Years!

Image
At age 2.5 years old Dutch is still amazing us everyday! Weight: 31 lbs (50th percentile) Height: 38 inches tall (86th percentile) Wear:  His pants sizes vary widely because he is so tall and lean. He can still fit into 18 month pants in the waist, but they are WAY to short.  24 month pants are somewhat short but fit pretty well in the waist.  2T pants are perfect in length, but sometimes are too big in the waist Shirts are 2T. Size 6-7 in shoes. Sleep: We get started on bedtime at about 7pm and he is down in bed by 7:30pm.  He usually lays in bed wide awake, just silent and petting his teddy bear for a while (like 30 mins to 2 hours).  We like to imagine him thinking about his day and all the fun he had On a normal bed-time day he wakes up around 7:45 am. Lately he has been sleeping a little later though and haven't gotten out of bed until about 8 am. Naps are still a must!  He usually naps anywhere from 1-3 hours! Eat: C Diff took a tol...

I had surgery to remove my gallbladder this morning. It went great and we were home around 2pm. Special thanks to Nana and Grandpa Jason for watching the boys. They said that both did great and Baker was a happy baby the whole time. In the picture below my gallbladder full of stones is on the left and there is a tiny umbilical hernia on the right.

Dance!

Dutch was rocking out to some Rush this evening. He thought it was awesome. Sorry for the blur, I had to capture the moment with my phone and he was all over the place.

A Beautiful Day

He Must Be Hiding

Image
The boys have been playing in the curtains in our room. They think it is hilarious! Dutch will hide, then pop out and Baker will laugh and laugh.

Friends For The Long Haul

Image
Dutch and Baker have been having a lot of fun with their new friend Tumblin' Chuck.

Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy

The boys love to crawl around in our bedroom together.  I barely got them to sit still long enough to snap this picture!

C Diff

Towards the end if October Dutch got sick :( He had an ear infection and pneumonia was trying to set in. He was put on a 10 day course of antibiotics (Cefdinir) and we thought all would be good.  Boy, were we wrong. On the last day of his medicine we noticed a drastic change in him. We just thought he was going through a phase; he was clingy, angry, and wasn't sleeping well. Even his teachers at Mother's Day Out (MDO) commented on the change. After about 4 days of this I was convinced something was wrong, I thought maybe his ear infection didn't get cleared up. On my way to pick him up from MDO I called to make an appointment with the Dr. When I got to MDO they showed me something pretty scary. He had just had a BM with a good amount of blood. That night it continued and we went to the Dr early the next morning (Friday). They did a stool test and thought he might have shigella.  We were told to expect a call on Monday, but they called us back on Sa...

Doped Up

Image
Lately it seems like all I do is give medicine. These are all the medications that the boys take each day. Some more than once a day! Baker's stash is in the right. The left is Dutch's side, most are fighting his C Diff. We are hoping it will be beat this time!

View of the World

Image
Baker has figured out that he can see out the window if he pulls up on the ledge. He was SOOO excited the first time he did it! He just bounced and squealed!

Presents!

Image
Dutch likes to give presents! He likes to receive presents more, but giving is still fun. He will get his puzzles and pretend to give us presents (the puzzle pieces).

A Lotta Toys

Image
Dutch wants to get out a lot of toys lately. To him this means emptying the toy box and throwing its contents onto the floor. I am at least thankful that he enjoys cleaning up at the end if the day.

Home Away From Home

Image
Or at least it seems that way. We have been at the Drs office A LOT lately. For example: yesterday, today, and twice on Monday. As much as we like our new pediatrician, we really hope to all be well soon!

New Tooth

Image
Even though you see no teeth in this pic, Little Bro has finally sprouted a new tooth. His upper right central incisor broke through over night. I think the left is not far behind.

The Weather Outside is Frightful

Well not really but it might be later. It has been drizzling all day. Definitely a snuggle under a blanket and watch movies kind of day.

Late Night Drive

Driving home from another great night with my small group ladies.

Little Bro's first ride in a swing.

Family

Image
We had a photographer come to the house and take our family photos back in November.  She got some really good shots of us!  I've made some little collages and modge-podged (sealed) them onto a canvas to hang in the house.  I put the finishing touches on them today and they are ready to go up.  Here are the collages I made (yes, more than 1 photo again today).

Hoops

Image
We have played a lot a basketball today. Big Bro has actually semi thrown the ball and made it more than once! Thanks for the hoop Grandpa Jason and Nana!

Mom, He's Touching Me!

The boys rode together in the shopping cart today. It went surprisingly well!

Brown and Blue and White

Today Dutch and I painted the background for next year's advent calendar.

Trains & Baskets

Image
Let's see how long this lasts. I'm not going to try to have nicely edited photos, just a pic about our day each day. Day 1 - Big Bro is fixing the track and Baker's ride in a basket.
