Monkey See, Monkey Do

Dutch was pretending to be Mommy today.  He didn't know that I was taping him.  Be sure you turn up the volume so you can hear him talk clearly.

Christmas Stockings

Image
I got ambitious a couple months ago and decided to make Christmas stockings for the three of us.  Keep in mind I've never been a sewer, so why I decided this would be a good idea I'm not sure.  However, they turned out great!  Sure there are some mistakes, but that just adds to the character...at least that's my story :) The first thing I did was make my pattern and cut out the pieces. Then I hand embroidered our names on the tops.   And many steps later we had completed stockings. Here are some close up shots of the characters on the front.  I found pictures I liked online and then cut out felt pieces to put them together.  I hand stitched them together to give them a fluffier look.

Papa & Grandma

Dutch has been learning the names and faces of his beloved family members.  He has had Papa and Nana down for a little while, but he was still working on Grandma.  I think he is getting pretty good with that one though.

Happy Veteran's Day

Austin Children's Museum

We went to the Austin Children's Museum last week.  Oh my goodness, Dutch had SOOO much fun.  It was the first time he actually cried/screamed when we left somewhere.  He ran through the Fun-struction Zone, mooed at the cow in the 'where milk comes from' exhibit, and was awed by the dinosaurs. Of course he found the books... And he took a little time to model for the Austin Family magazine

Oh To Be Young...

If only we were all still so easily entertained by just thrashing our heads about.

Bubble Time! Excellent!

We have a bubble sword from Dutch's birthday party.  Dutch is terrified of it as a sword, but as a bubble maker he thinks it is awesome !
