Baker's First...

Image
Selfie! I was using the front camera on my phone to see if Baker was awake. He was and he reached up and snapped a photo of himself.

Stick On 'Stache

Image
Dutch loves a good mustache! So we got him a bunch of stick on ones for Christmas. I will post pictures of his 'stache collection as we go through them. Here is his first selection:

Fun Friday

Image
We don't do "Picnic Friday" very often, but when we do its a hit.   So picnic Friday means we watch a movie, I spread a blanket on the floor, and we eat lunch in the family room. The boys rarely get to watch anything longer than about 25 minutes do its a pretty big event for them. Especially Dutch as he has a longer attention span.

We are back...

Image
We are back to the stage of life where we have to remove cushions from the couch. Baker has started climbing the couch, and refuses to not stand, so off the cushions come to protect his head from crashes.

Dutch At The Dentist

Dutch had his first dental check up a few months ago and he did great!  He was a total champ and got a new toothbrush for his efforts.  He was nervous about going, but by the time we left he was pretty pleased with how clean his teeth were.  When we got home I gave him a hug and told him I was very proud of him for being such a good big boy at the dentist and he responded with: "My teeth is pretty!" (said while smiling and pointing at his teeth)

On the Train!

Image
Dutch and I went for our first train ride today.  We had a blast!  Dutch loved every minute of it, he was all wide eyes and smiles.  He named all the train cars we saw (he chose names from his How to Train a Train book).  Our train car was named Nathan.  Santa made an appearance about half way through the two hour trip.  A little while later Mrs. Claus gave us some yummy sugar cookies.  It was an awesome day and I'm so glad I was able to share it with Dutch! {We've got our tickets, now we have to wait to board the train} {Dutch got very cold while we waited} {Finally, we are on the train} {They read us a story about the train ride} {Santa!} {Santa gave him a train whistle, all the kids were blowing them on the train} {Mrs. Claus is handing out cookies} {We are on our way back to the station}

Playing Trains

Image
Dutch really likes playing with his train set.  I really like making tracks.  Together we have come up with some cool track layouts and had a blast running trains on them.

Christmas Cards

Image
We didn't want to pay for a photographer this year so I decided to tackle getting some nice photos of the boys myself.  Now they don't look professional but they still came out good!  Check your mail to see which photos made the card :)

The Artist

Image
Dutch has gotten to be quite the artist. He has really been enjoying drawing trains, faces, and waves. He is very good at waves and ocean scenes.  (Notice the sails on the boats)

Decorating For Christmas

Image
It was hard for me to hold out on putting up Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving, but I managed to make it!  Come Saturday though, I was ready to deck the halls. {O Christmas Tree} {Breakfast Area} {Our new Advent calendar} I've got an activity for each day and a little cookie for the boys to have. {Dutch's handprint sign} {Baker's footprint tree}
