One of my BFF's, Jessica B, came through town with her boyfriend, Nathan, last Saturday.  They were headed to iFly Austin and we convinced them they needed to eat lunch with us before hand.  Jess is working in DC so we haven't seen her since Dutch was about 6 months old.  It was so nice to be able to sit and visit and to meet Nathan.  We all had a great time!  Oh, and we went to Pappasito's which is still delicious, but has gotten really expensive. {Jessica & Nathan} {Me & Jess}

It is that time of year again...SUMMER! Yes it is H-O-T, but it is also time for the Austin Symphony's weekly Children's Day Art Park.  I started taking Dutch to this in 2011, we skipped 2012 because Baker was too little, but we all went last year.  In the past we have only gone for one of the weeks, but I want to go to a few of them this year.  Today was the first event and it was awesome!  Local celebrities, The Biscuit Brothers, played and were available in the Art Tent for pictures after the show.  If you don't have kids in the Austin area, you may not be aware of these Brothers, but they have a kids show on PBS Saturday mornings.  We have only seen it once, but it is pretty funny.  They also sing, obviously as we were at a concert. Given all that, Dutch's favorite part was playing the instruments.  This is the first year he has been able to try his hand at the instrument petting zoo and he loved it.  They clean the mouth pieces between...

For some unknown reason I felt like doing a photo study of my boys while we were playing trains.

We made our first trip to the Landa Park pool today. To say that the boys had fun would be an understatement. We started at the "Zero Depth Pool", which is a chlorinated kiddie pool. It has a small water slide, about 4 feet long. The boys had a lot of fun on that. Then we put on their life jackets and went to the "Olympic Pool" and waded with the boys for a while. The boys practiced their kicking. Then it was more sliding, followed by a snack. The only spot we saw was in the sun so snack time wasn't too relaxing, but Dan went in search of greener pastures and he was successful! We moved to a nicer, shadier, calmer, less congested area near the springer pool. We got a nice spot in the shade of a tree and set up camp.
