Mall Walking

Image
We were going to Austin about a week ago to meet some friends for dinner and decided to go early so Dan and Dutch could look around Guitar Center. I knew Baker would be a major handful in there so we walked the halls of Northcross Mall. It was a lot of fun for Baker. There is not much in the inner part of the mall (it's a strip mall really). Indoors they have Guitar Center (obviously), a dance studio, a large collection of salons, and Chapparel Ice. Baker and I got to watch an ice hockey game! I thought it was a pretty awesome, unexpected event; Baker was less impressed and just wanted to run around. Either way it was fun for all!

Baby Einstein Farm

Sometimes a Momma needs to get things done without tiny humans underfoot. When this is the case nothing can hold Baker's undivided attention like Baby Einstein's Old McDonald's Farm video, or as Dutch calls it "about the farm." There's nothing like kicking back with a good show and a pair of fingers to suck on.

...Baker and I am only mildly amused by swinging. (May I please go back to digging in the dirt now?!) ...Dutch and I find great joy in swinging. (Even if I do refuse to accept that I am too big for the baby swings.)

Unexpected Adventure

Image
We went to hang out in the river at the Berry's house after nap time.  They have a great spot that is only a few inches deep, is covered in smooth rocks, and the water flows nicely.  The boys really like it there, especially when they are allowed to throw rocks. While we were there a few weeks ago the wind picked up.  I handed Baker to Dan so I could get out of the water.  The wind made Baker cold and he was clinging to Dan so tight!  They made their way back to the car while I got Dutch out of the water.  By the time Dutch and I got to the car Baker was sitting in the open trunk wearing Dan's shirt. Once we go the boys dried off a bit we got into the car.  Soon the rain started.  We had so much fun sitting in the car watching the rain! It was a wonderfully unexpected adventure.

Daddy's Off To Work

Baker's Walking

Baker started taking his first wobbly steps the first week of May.  He was so excited that he would just lurch at us after one step. Just one month later he was walking confidently!  Now he walks all the time.

Dutch has become interested in his drawing board again. {Happy Face} {Angry Face} He has also been asking us to teach him how to "draw the ABC's." He is getting really good! And he picks up so fast we can barely keep up with his requests. {A} {My Name}

Drama

This is a typical face for our little Dutch. He has been very edgy lately and any little thing can send him into a fit. This face was because he wanted to lock the doors but couldn't because he is in his car seat.

Model Citizen

Dutch has been very posey lately and man is he one handsome kid! I know I have a bias, but I'm not sure anyone would disagree.

Our Little Longhair

Baker's curls are so cute we don't want to cut them off, but I guess we will have to at some point. Oh well, for now they sure are fun to play with!
