The 'Neigh'-bor's Horse

Image
For some reason every time the neighbor's horse hears Dutch yell, he comes RUNNING towards us.  The first time it happened we were a little freaked out, we weren't sure he was going to stop when he got to the fence...he did. (Side note:  Dan said that after editing this photo it looks like it could be on a Led Zeppelin album cover.)

Go Fly A Kite

Image
Sunday there was a little wind.  Just enough to fly a kite, but not so much that Dutch couldn't handle the kite on his own.  He had a lot of fun and has been asking to fly it again ever since.

Balloons!

Image
We went to breakfast at Cafe on the Square this morning and on the way we saw these. Dutch didn't seem overly impressed :)

Haircut

Image
Dutch got his first real haircut last night. Dan has trimmed his hair before, but just a little here and a little there. But last night Dutch gave in to the clippers and got a full head cut. He looks so different!!

Heart Melters

Image
Baker has some awesome smiles.  Yes, plural, SMILES!  He has some many different ones and they all make you feel so special and loved.  They just melt your heart every time. The "Oh it's Momma" smile The "I Love You" smile The "I'm Gonna Get That Camera" smile The "My Brother Cracks Me Up" smile The "What, I Didn't Have Anything In My Mouth" smile The "Big Cheesy Grin" smile The "I Crack Myself Up" smile The "Aren't I Silly" smile

Flattery

Image
They say imitation is the highest form of flattery. I don't know that I would say Dutch is imitating, but he does like to act out what he knows. For example, in this photo Woody is getting a fresh diaper.

Chatty Little Baker

At the beginning of February Baker decided he had a lot to say.  He started babbling and hasn't stopped since!  When he hears Dutch in another room he will say "bub bub bub bub bub" (Bubba) and when he sees Dan he will say "hi yadadada." This video is from when he first started jabbering.

Dolphins!

Image
We went to the Texas State Aquarium on Sunday before heading home. Dutch liked the dolphin show, but he kept looking in the wrong direction! Lol! Baker liked (and was startled by) all the loud cheers. He really enjoyed the fish tanks though!

Hit the Road

Pulling out for our spur of the moment trip to Corpus Christi.

A Valentine Treat

Image
Since we couldn't really go out for Valentine's Day this year I brought the fancy feast to us. I made a whole (hopefully) delicious spread. The first course is Oktoberfest Stew (no pic because I couldn't get one that looked appetizing) with HOMEMADE New York Style Rye bread. That will be followed with a Chocolate Kahula Tiramisu cake. I am all dressed up, and even got the boys looking good too. Happy Valentine's Day!

Snapseed

Image
I lost a couple days in there...oh well! I have an app called Snapseed that I like to play around with. It is free! And it's fun to edit photos easily with. Now I'm no master at it, I just see what I can make happen. Here is a shot I was playing with yesterday. The first is the original, the second is the edit. Which do you like?

Let Me Out

Woody

Image
Dutch (and Baker, even though Baker is not allowed to play with it) LOVES his Woody doll. He's still in like new condition so I thought I would get some pics of his dear friend.

Tunnel of Fun

Image
This was the best picture I could get. Baker kept crawling at me :) He wasn't to big on the tunnel. Dutch, on the other hand, loved it.

C Diff Update

I had really hoped that when I did this update it would be good news, but life doesn't always turn out with good news.  At least not right away... Dutch took his last dose of Vancomycin on January 24th at 10pm.  He was still on 1,000mg of Florastor and 2 sachets of VSL#3 and continued on that course until a few days ago.  At the end of the antibiotic he was doing pretty darn good.  He was eating well, sleeping well, and had plenty of happy-go-lucky energy.  He started having cramps about 3 days after the last dose of Vancomycin.  They were only in the morning and seemed to go away after he had a bowel movement so we weren't overly concerned.  We were definitely still on high alert though.  After the the huge let down we experienced with the last relapse Dan and I were not going to get our hopes up again.  Essentially we were hoping for the best but expecting the worst.  Good thing too, because 10 days after his last dose (Monday, Febru...

Ringlet

Image
Baker has a lot of little fuzzy baby hair. It is so soft and cute and makes him look older than he is (at least to me). He has one spot in the back that tries to curl up if it gets wet. I love his tiny little ringlet!

36/365: Bed Head

Image
Dutch is a sweaty sleeper so it makes for some crazy bed head.

35/365: Hiding

Image
Dutch is on the lookout for hiding spots to get away from Baker. He has 2 favorite spots: (1) behind the toy box between the wall and the couch and (2) in the cabinet.

34/365: Who Needs Cable!

Image
When you can stream the Super Bowl online why do you need cable? We hooked my laptop up to the TV and BAM we were good to go. Dutch enjoyed watching the game too.

33/365: Grill It!

Image
We grilled some veggies (chicken and shrimp too) for dinner tonight. They were awesome!! Except for the avocado, that was not so great.

32/365: Joe Cool

Image
The sun really bothers Dutch's eyes. We had gotten him these shades a few months ago, but he just kept taking them off and then asking us to put them back on. That is quite frustrating when you are driving the car :) But yesterday I thought he might be ready. I was right! He loved that they helped the sun seem less bright and left them on the whole time (even inside HEB).
