Frankly Breech
We had a sonogram today and learned that Dutch is about 6.5 lbs right now and is a healthy growing boy. We also learned that he already takes after his Mom and Dad, in that he is stubborn. He has refused to turn head down on his own. He's in what is called "Frank Breech" position, meaning his little tush is down and his head and feet are up by my ribs. We have a couple of options to address the issue.
1. We do nothing and schedule a cesarean for sometime next week.
2. We attempt to do a External Cephalic Version (EVC), which is flipping him around so his head is down.
Even though the Dr said that he doesn't think Dutch will flip, we decided to at least try option 2. We'll go into the hospital later this week, they'll give me a low key relaxant, and then give it a try. If he flips around, and stays there, then that's that. We just wait until I go into labor and try for the natural birth like we've been planning. If he can't be flipped, or if he doesn't stay, then we schedule the cesarean. We're a little nervous, but we're at least trying everything we can to not have a c-section.
On another note, the carpet was installed in the bedroom today. Yay! It looks great, and Dan even got some of the furniture moved in, so tonight will be our first night in our new master bedroom. Pictures to come this weekend :)
